CLARK ART INSTITUTE PARTICIPATES
IN WILLIAMSTOWN’S HOLIDAY WALK WEEKEND 


Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute joins in the community-wide celebration of the holidays during Williamstown’s 41st Annual Holiday Walk Weekend, held the first weekend in December. The Clark kicks off the festivities on Friday, December 6 with a live concert by Berkshire County favorite Wanda Houston. On December 7, the Clark hosts art-making activities and horse-drawn carriage rides on Spring Street, while its Café 7 makes a return entry participating in the Soup-er Bowl cook-off. And the party closes out on December 8 with Feeling Glittery, Williamstown Theatre Festival’s special musical production presented in the Clark’s Manton Research Center auditorium.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 6
On December 6, the Berkshires’s favorite songstress Wanda Houston kicks off Williamstown’s Holiday Walk Weekend with a spirited concert blending holiday music with her signature song stylings. Houston’s powerhouse voice and mesmerizing mix of jazz and R&B influences give every tune a distinctive sound. Backed by her band, The Wanda Houston Project, this concert promises to put you in the holiday mood! The performance takes place at 6 pm in the Manton Research Center auditorium.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7
Enjoy a full day of free holiday festivities all along Williamstown’s Spring Street! From noon to 2 pm, the Clark’s own Chef Chris Gouty and his team from Café 7 are vying to be selected as the best soup in the Soup-er Bowl cook-off held in the Lasell Gym at Williams College. Then, the Clark sponsors art-making activities at the TD Bank branch at 57 Spring Street from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and horse-drawn carriage rides on Spring Street from 2:30 to 5:00 pm.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8
The big finale to Williamstown’s annual Holiday Walk Weekend festivities is the very special Williamstown Theatre Festival musical performance, Feeling Glittery, at 3 pm in the Clark’s Manton Research Center auditorium. Join Broadway and WTF Cabaret songstress Alysha Umphress (On the Town) and pianist Trevor M. Pierce for an afternoon of jazzy and soulful holiday tunes. Some songs are very familiar, some less so, and some will appear in a way you’ve never heard them before! Merry, bright, and glittery. Don’t miss it!

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark, which has a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Its 140-acre campus includes miles of hiking and walking trails through woodlands and meadows, providing an exceptional experience of art in nature. Galleries are open 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday from September through June, and daily in July and August. Admission is free January through March and is $20 from March through December; admission is free year-round for Clark members, all visitors age 21 and under, and students with a valid student ID. Free admission is also available through several programs, including First Sundays Free; a local library pass program; and EBT Card to Culture.
