CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS FINAL
FIRST SUNDAY FREE OF THE SEASON
Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute’s First Sunday Free concludes on Sunday, May 5 with Art and Wellness. Offering free admission from 10 am–5 pm, the Clark presents special activities centering on the connections between art and wellness, including a pop-up installation of prints and drawings in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper from 11 am–1 pm.
Engaging with art can increase our sense of wellbeing and even be an act of self-care. In connection with Mental Health Awareness Month, this May art and wellness are the focus at the Clark. Whether you are in the galleries or out on the trails, there are many ways to access the benefits of engaging with art, such as slow looking and mindfulness practices.
From 11 am–5 pm, join in a variety of activities exploring the therapeutic dimensions of art, including all-ages yoga in the galleries, a guided, mindful walk on our campus, and more! Join us for art-making and other activities related to encouraging a stronger sense of self-care and wellbeing.
Between 11 am and 1 pm, the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper features a special display of works on paper inspired by “Art and Wellness.” Through drawings, prints, watercolors, and more, the artists of these works explore themes of mental, physical, and spiritual healing.
Family programs are generously supported by Allen & Company.
Free admission all day. Select activities require registration. Capacity is limited; participants may sign up on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. For accessibility questions, call 413 458 0524. For more information, visit clarkart.edu/events.
