April 21, 2025 CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS FREE OUTDOOR CONCERT BY ALEXANDER TURNQUIST AND 75 DOLLAR BILL Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute presents an outdoor concert on Sunday, May 18 at 5 pm featuring Alexander Turnquist and 75 Dollar Bill. This free event takes place on the Moltz Terrace of the Lunder Center at Stone Hill.
Alexander Turnquist is a Kingston, New York-based multi-instrumentalist and composer most known for his use of the twelve-string acoustic guitar as a driving force in his songwriting. His music expresses longing and fulfillment, weaving together melodies into musical landscapes. 75 Dollar Bill is a musical duo based out of New York featuring Che Chen on guitar and Rick Brown on drums. Their music blends various forms of improvisational music with hints of jazz and psychedelia. Their 2019 album, I Was Real, received high praise and was named the number one album of the year by The Wire. This program is presented in collaboration with Belltower Records, North Adams, Massachusetts. Free. Rain moves the performance to the auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center. ABOUT THE CLARK The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography.
