Provenance

With Howard & Co., New York; sold to Robert Sterling Clark, 14 May 1930.¹ 1. According to the Howard & Co. invoice, the candlesticks were silver gilt when Clark purchased them. This is consistent with quantitative analysis of the metal, but no traces of gilding remain.
